I received the scores for Casta Diva and Martini’s Plaisir d’amour from Italy a couple of days ago and am busy learning them. I almost have Plaisir d’amour – a very long-time favourite of mine since I heard a recording of Joan Baez singing it, but I’m taking my time with Casta Diva – it is such a beautiful piece of music.
Something I notice about Italian music – how it constantly shifts between major and minor keys.
